Short Track Speedskating
Short track speed skating is a faster version of speed skating, with a shorter oval and much more chance for contact between the participants.

A typical short track competition has from 4 to 6 athletes skating laps around an indoor ice track, usually 111 meters around. They skate a certain number of laps around the oval. The first two across the finish line advance to the finals, where they face off against each other. During a race, athletes will naturally get to the inside of the oval, which traces the shortest distance around. In order to do this, athletes might bump one another. Contact is not permitted; those who do bump other athletes might be disqualified.
